AAL’s Managing Director, picked-up the award on the carrier’s behalf. He commented, “This is a tremendous honour and especially significant in that the award was independently voted for by the readers of Lloyd’s Loading List – a readership comprising of our customers, partners and associates from all over the world.”
He continued, “Breakbulk Operator of the Year 2016 is the fifth industry award for AAL in the past two years and is dedicated to all our teams on land and sea, who work tirelessly to provide the 24/7 commitment to excellence that our global service is built upon, and such industry honours recognise.”
This latest win for AAL is recognition of a sustained period of growth and development in which it has expanded its global footprint, boosted its operating fleet capacity, and launched new added value services, like scheduled semi-liner sailings between the Middle East and its key trading partners.
AAL is one of the world’s leading breakbulk, project cargo and heavy lift shipping operators, providing a unique dual tramp and liner service for its customers throughout Asia, Oceania, Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Established in 1995, the company operates the multipurpose sector’s youngest fleet – multiple classes of modern multipurpose heavy lift vessels (ranging from 12,000, to 31,000 dwt) and each specifically designed to accommodate heavy lift and project cargo alongside breakbulk, containers and bulk.
In 2014, AAL won ‘Best Maritime Cargo Provider’ at Cargo Logistics Canada. In 2015, it enhanced its global Tramp & Projects solutions with a range of scheduled and fixed route semi-liner services on key global trades. In the same year, AAL won ‘Best Shipping Line – Project Cargo’ at the Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS) for a second year running and then repeated its success for an unprecedented third win in 2016.
