Join market experts to discuss commercial and operational trends in the container shipping market

This is an invitation to episode 4 of the Shipping Markets Checkpoint webinar’s second season: “Thinking out loud on what’s next for shipping”.

In the fourth episode of the season, BIMCO’s Chief Shipping Analyst, Peter Sand, is joined by Jochen Gutschmidt, Vice President at Sea-Intelligence. The two experts will discuss the container shipping market which is never dull. Port congestions combined with the fact that the start of this year has been the busiest Q1 on record, will make for a lively and interesting discussion. Sand and Gutschmidt will look both at the commercial and operational trends.

A few questions up for debate are:

  • How is the relationship between carriers and shippers going?
  • What has changed in the relationship between the parties and why?
  • Is the supply chain resilient?
  • How long will the current supply chain crunch last and what is the impact?

“I look very much forward to discuss these issues with Jochen who has experience and insight from A.P. Moller-Maersk and Nestle. The current disruption at the Yantian port is raising a lot of relevant questions for everyone offering and relying on container trade, and we will be looking both at the current state of the market as well as the outlook,” says Sand.

The conversation starts on 10 June at 14.00 CET (summertime). The webinar is open for registration and free.
